Our History
1st Generation
William Buhr moved to Buffalo, ND from Iowa with his 1 year old son Art. He started with 1,100 acres and farmed mainly grass crops.
2nd Generation
Art married Zeta, moved 1 mile south, and started the current farm.
3rd Generation
Larry Buhr (Art’s youngest son) took over the farm and pig operation. In 1959, Larry and Colleen got married and had a daughter Tammy in 1960.
4th Generation
Tammy and Eric got married and started farming a year later with 300 acres.
Grandpa Larry Retired
Tammy and Eric took over the farm of 1,200 acres. They consistently had 750 pigs until 1996 and grew the farm to 1,600
Zane Started
Zane started and farmed 500 acres.
Reed Started
Reed started on the farm, graduated from college, and started at Legend Seeds as a DSM.
Buhr Erickson Farms Forms
Buhr Erickson Farms Partnership started. Trent took over operations. Reed came back to farming 75%.
